Deep fried vegetarian ham rolls, filled with delicate vegetables served along with a salted sesame sauce.
This dish is a vegetarian alternative and can be made using actual ham.
-
250g vegetarian ham
-
1 ½ blade celery
-
¾ carrot
-
3 water chestnuts
-
1 egg noodle
-
Sauce mixture:
Add 1 1/3 tablespoon pepper, 1 1/3 tablespoon salt, ¾ tablespoon soy sauce , ¾ teaspoon sesame oil, into a bowl ½ filled with water (approx 125ml) and mix well.
1. Cut the carrot, celery and water chestnuts into strips of same length. Blanch the strips into boiling water for 7-10 minutes. Remove and drain the sections to be kept aside for later.
2. Slice the vegetarian ham into wide slices. Place a piece of carrot, celery and water chestnut for every ham slice. Roll up the ham bundle and using the egg noodle, tie the roll up. Then deep-fry into hot vegetable oil, until vegetarian ham rolls become a golden colour. Place vegetarian ham rolls onto desired plate to be served.
3. Leaving 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil into a preheated wok, pour the sauce mixture and bring to boil. Use a little cornstarch solution to thicken the sauce. When adequately boiled and mixed pour the sauce over the vegetarian ham rolls. Dish is to be served hot :)
